A team that understands schools.
We are an experienced team passionate about designing learning environments that supports students, educators and their communities.
This is our sole focus.
Louise Booth
With over 20 years’ experience in the profession, Louise has dedicated much of her career working closely with schools and education communities.
For Louise, her designs have always centred around people that use them. Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of how learning environments can influence wellbeing, social connections and the way schools function day to day.
Listening Before Designing
Louise is known for her approachable manner and her ability to listen carefully before offering solutions.
Clients value her calm, considered approach and her ability to problem solve with clarity and confidence. She believes the role of an architect is not to overwhelm clients with multiple options, but instead to guide informed decisions through thoughtful design and clear communication.
Teaching, Mentoring and Ongoing Learning
Alongside her practice, Louise teaches and mentors architectural students at university level.
Teaching has shaped how she interacts and presents to clients: she listens carefully & explains clearly, understanding that not everyone can read plans or understand drawings.
Design Shaped by the People Who Use It
What motivates Louise most is seeing school communities step into completed spaces and recognise that they were designed with them in mind. She is passionate about challenging the idea that architecture prioritises design over people.
Friendly, thoughtful and quietly determined, Louise brings a steady presence to every project. Through Hopscotch Architects, she continues to work alongside school communities to create spaces that support learning, connection and everyday school life.
